Alberta North Chapter of CANN
Annual Report
December 2011
Greetings from Alberta North!
Alberta North continues to work to promote and serve both our members and our professional organization. We have had difficulty finding meeting times which promote a higher turnout for meetings and speakers.
Recruitment and retention of members continues to be both a goal and an ongoing challenge. Our May workshop provided new members; however, retention of previous members is an issue. Reminders have been sent to members regarding membership renewal. We continue to be committed to exploring and providing educational and professional opportunities that best support our membership needs.
On May 14, the Alberta North Chapter hosted a presentation, Making Connections: An Overview of Neuroanatomy from Head to Tail, for which the feedback has been very positive. Dr. Aronyk, a Neurosurgeon and Dr. Walji, a Physician and Professor of Anatomy, presented. Dr. Walji provided the anatomy review, while Dr. Aronyk provided the relevance of the anatomy to the Surgeon and patient outcomes. Both were dynamic speakers, and the specimens were amazing. We will be planning another workshop focusing on Interpretation of Diagnostic Images for Spring 2012.
Respectfully submitted by,
Janet Chaney
